The Peugeot 9X8 is a racing prototype developed by Peugeot to compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in the 2024 season. Initially introduced in 2021, the 9X8 is notable for its innovative rear-spoiler-less design, which challenges traditional aerodynamic conventions. Equipped with a hybrid system combining a 2.6-litre twin-turbo V6 engine with an electric motor on the front axle, the 9X8 represents Peugeot’s commitment to advanced technology and sustainability.
In its evolution through to 2024, the 9X8 has seen significant improvements in performance and reliability, establishing itself as a formidable competitor in the WEC Hypercar class. The Peugeot TotalEnergies team has worked tirelessly to optimise the vehicle’s chassis and aerodynamics, seeking to maximise efficiency and on-track performance. The 9X8’s participation in iconic races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans has reinforced Peugeot’s motorsport heritage, standing out not only for its speed and technology, but also for its avant-garde and elegant design.
