Porsche book design (Pepita)

Job Description:

We were asked to design the endpapers for a book by Porsche Spain, which was going to focus on the personal aspect of people, as well as the car.

We carried out the project manually and digitally. Álvaro carried out the first phase of the designs by hand, and then Eneko gave it the digital treatment, adding the colours and compositions of the cars.

For this reason, we have tried to make both the creation process and the result express human feeling and passion.

Origins.

The entire project has been designed and created based on Porsche's roots: its culture, its colours, its patterns and its fundamental pillars.

A very important aspect was to be the fashionable pattern used in the upholstery of some of the original 911s, the Pepita pattern.

We have designed it based on the origins of a brand as special as Porsche, which has a number of passionate fans around the world like very few brands.

To each their own, PTS.

Porsche is a brand that prides itself on having more than 100 exclusive colors in its PTS (Porsche Paint to Sample) chart.

The variety of colours and special configurations is a hallmark that can be seen on the Stuttgart models on the streets.

That's why we wanted to give this project our own special touch by using a range of PTS colours such as Rubystar, Mintgreen, Vipergreen and many more. Can you find them all?

In addition, we have made use of slight variations of the PTS (as artistic license) for design reasons, as well as common colors such as Guards Red, Racing Yellow, Miami Blue and many more.

Checkered flag.

The final artwork shown below is the culmination of months of work, a combination of manual and digital effort to achieve the most creative and unique result possible.

Above all, this is the work of two Porsche enthusiasts who wanted to represent what this brand means to us. From its beginnings with Ferdinand Porsche's 356, through the first 911s and the end of the Air-Cooled era, to the most iconic models such as the first GT3 (996), the first Cayenne or the 911 50th anniversary, the 991.1.

Finally, a style of illustration has been used in the form of conceptual sketches with the car parts, as if the designers put all their ideas on the table to create the best possible Porsche.

We hope you like it as much as we do.
